Why fly line looks like it will hit me in the face?
I try to learn to fly fish. I am practicing my casting, trying to get the technique down … but I noticed, it seems that the line is straight back to my face. What I doing wrong? Is it just my timing? Any suggestions for learning from melting?
Without being able to watch your casting technique, no can tell you what you're doing wrong (and that's assuming that there is something * wrong with your technique). Follow a line of fly rod when the rod is advanced charged enough. That's all you need to remember. If the line is in contact with your body, whether the stem has not been loaded properly for cast for, you try to throw out of your (or your cane) capacity, or your technique needs Tweaking '(but we can not see you cast). You could just take in some of the extra line off the tip, the shorter length will be more manageable for the acquisition good basic skills in casting, which will strengthen confidence. If it makes you feel comfortable at the corner of your rod away from your body as you cast, then do it. However, do you learn to throw with the bow perpendicular to the ground rod ("directly above"). The main advantage of the latter is a much more accurate, and is often enough to make a difference in the success on the water.
