fly fishing questions.?
well what is this number Cane 7 / 8 or 5 / 6 and the roll number 9.8 What are these numbers? and How I can configure the leaders as if the salmon fishing in calm water im but it is unclear what is the line number and reel I use im new to fishing fly and want to buy a bar that's good for fishing salmon and trout, and also what the diffrece 8 feet between the bar and the bar 9 ft. graphite or bamboo or someone else out there. so more or less want a 101 in fly fishing
The numbers indicate the status bar or line. Weights line typically range from 000 to 14 (well, at least in the United Kingdom). For example, a rod of 5.6 will be able to launch a line of five or six weight and vice versa. If you used the heavier of the two options then the line will be needed unless to load the bar, ideal for short range fishing. When it comes to rating line will depend largely on where you intend to fish and, of course, the type of fish targeted. I use a 9 foot # 5 Sage Z-axis with a 2.0 Lamson Konic most of my trout fishing in lakes and rivers of medium size. For melting in the wind or the use of larger patterns in large water using a 9-foot 6 "# 7, this can also be used for salmon during the summer months. For nothing serious salmon fishing by 10 feet # 8 and a bar 15 feet # 10/11 should be considered a good reel capable of holding at least 150 200yrds backup. The ideal length for trout rods always is and always has been the subject of debate, Most are usually between 7 feet and 10 feet long, with Stillwater fishermen preferring something about 9 to 10 feet. Short rods are easier to launch and create tighter bonds, resulting in a higher line speed and distance so more, but other factors including the style of casting and action cane must be taken into consideration. Most rods today are made from carbon fiber parts, rods cane a few are built as available from manufacturers such as Hardy. However, the rod is quite heavy and to be honest is not ideal for a beginner. For more information, check out http://www.flyforums.co.uk
